Well Summer arrived in style in Yorkshire with temperatures reaching a balmy 32 degrees over the weekend!! We had a few warm days prior, nothing above 25 so bearable. With work dominating my life for the last 2 weeks it was nice for Cash to make the most of moving to the Summer fields.
Work finally returned to normal at the start of the week and so much to Cash’s disappointment he was brought out of early retirement (in his dreams) yesterday and we resumed hacking 🙂
3 weeks to the day since i last rode he was good as good and enjoyed a 30 minute saunter through the woods with our pals Nicky and Dave.
It’s a shame he hasn’t been worked for a while, his top line has dropped and his muscle tone has diminished through his loins and quarters but i’m sure we’ll see it starting to come back in the next 6 weeks or so.
Plans over the next week or so are to build up hacking again and pop in the school a couple of times to record our P7 entry for EquiMind. Really looking forward to our 1st entry as a sponsored rider, look out for posts early July about the training classes as well as how we did in the competition classes.
I’m expecting Cash to be quite stiff when we return to the school, it’s the norm for him after some time off, he has his next Equine Touch session with Jo next week and he’ll be due the farrier in the next few weeks.
