Since Cash has been feeling a bit sorry for himself he hasn’t been ridden since Saturday, i suspect an upset hindgut. He’s had a couple of days out in the field and a few sessions on the walker in between. Monday i picked up a tube of Protexin Quick Fix and he’s had 10ml of that a day with the last dose yesterday. As he hasn’t been consistently eating his feeds he’s been missing out on his daily doses of Acid Ease which has been keeping him happy since October and as such has had on and off had runny poo for a few days!! Lovely!
Tuesday he was much better to groom, not dipping away from the brushes but he glanced round to see what i was up to when down his right hand side and i noticed his back end looked a lot better, no signs of runny poo down his legs or through his tail…… and he’s started eating his feeds again.
I’m not sure what has upset him this time, maybe mares coming into season, he did have a few days of trashing fences to get to them, spring grass coming through, haylage too rich? Nothing has changed work wise, if anything he has had it easy since we competed at the end of March.
Later today he has an equine touch session booked and i’m really interested in what Jo picks up against what the physio identifies. Equine Touch was something Jay had on a regular basis and i found it really benefited him along side his physio sessions.
I’m hoping to get back on for a couple of hacks over the bank holiday weekend before i down tools for a week and go on Holiday 😀
